The Preserves

There is a Preserve near you. Some are simple boat launches while others feature a full set of amenities.

Our Parks are generally open dusk till dawn all year round. Please remember dogs are allowed on trails leashed, and are prohibited from park areas.

Water Safety

• Check out your boat.
• Check your safety equipment.
• Check your life jackets.
• Take a boating class.
• Learn courtesy on the water.
• Keep an eye on the weather.
• Drive defensively.
• Don’t drink and drive a boat.

Heat Safety

• Drink more fluids.
• Don’t drink liquids that contain alcohol or large amounts of sugar.
• Wear lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing.

Lifejacket Safety

Lifejackets must be:
• U.S. Coast guard approved
• In good and serviceable condition.
• The appropriate size for the intended user.
• Worn by children under 8 years old.
• Worn by anyone on a personal watercraft or being towed on skis/tube.
• Worn by anyone within 800 feet below a hydroelectric dam or navigational lock or dam.
